The streaming giant announced today that it is testing a new suite of verification tools designed to prevent “AI slop”—low-quality, AI-generated tracks—from being falsely attributed to human artists.
The move comes after a year of increasing frustration within the music industry, as high-profile artists found their official profiles cluttered with unauthorized AI covers, deepfake collaborations, and “type-beat” uploads that they never recorded.
